About Us

The City of Omaha has developed a stormwater quality improvement program based on the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) municipal stormwater discharge permit. (more on the permit)

The comprehensive program includes pollution reduction activities for construction sites, industrial sites, illegal discharges and illicit connections, new development, and municipal operations.

The program also includes an extensive public education effort, and monitoring program. The Stormwater Management Plan lists in greater detail specific program activities and measurable goals.
